1) Myanmar
Civil war in Myanmar is still continuing. On September 16, the military regime made an air strike on a school, killing 11 children, but they cremated the victims to hide the evidence. So far, the number of civilians killed by the national army exceeds 3,000. The Japanese government that has yearly kept accepting students from Myanmar’s national army to the Japan’s National Defense Academy decided to abolish this system from next year in the wake of the execution of Myanmar’s 4 democratic activists in July.
2) Russia & Ukraine
Ukraine has begun attacking Russia’s civilian objects. This includes numerous explosions in Donetsk that accompanied many deaths and injured, and missile attacks on South Ukraine Nuclear Power Plant, the 2nd largest nuclear power plant in Ukraine. Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant is once again put in a dangerous condition by a missile attack that destroyed its cooling system. In the eastern and southern provinces of Ukraine, referendum is going to be held on September 27 regarding incorporation into Russia. Western countries are expressing strong opposition to this.
