Program for the evening of February 19
The conflict between Russia and Ukraine (plus NATO) is on the verge of developing into a war. On February 15, the Russian Lower House adopted a resolution that requests President Putin to affirm eastern regions of Ukraine (Donetsk and Luhansk) as independent nations—an act that can bring about battles in these regions. To avoid it, Germany, France and other European countries are urging Ukraine to fulfill the Minsk Agreement that stipulates these districts as special districts of Ukraine.
While the U.S. and European mass media kept announcing that Russia would invade Ukraine on February 16, Russia released a video of its troops retreating from the Russian-Ukraine boarder. This may be because President Putin has not been able to get support of the Russian All-Military Union that is against a war. However, NATO’s Secretary General, Stoltenberg keeps being alert, and says that he is discussing establishment of a new battle force in East Europe.
