On Sunday, October 20, a scam message was sent to several people from my WhatsApp account asking for money.
In the scam message, I requested money transfer via Bizun, a Spanish money transfer system, and it seems that my WhatsApp exchanges in Spanish were particularly targeted.
(Some of them were sent to English speakers as well.)
The situation started yesterday when WhatsApp indicated that my account was unusual and that I should check my user information.
Without question, I entered my information.
Then the scam messages began to be sent.
The situation is normal now that I have changed my password and authentication system and strengthened my security.
While I am in constant communication with WhatsApp's customer center and they are closely monitoring the situation, I urge you to not respond to any suspicious messages. Instead, please email me immediately to let me know.
