Program for August 27
The Japanese government (Ministry of Economy & Industry) decided to drain the ALPS processed water from Fukushima nuclear power plant. They put the plan into practice beginning August 24. The “processed water” indicates radioactively contaminated water from Fukushima Daiichi that is processed by a facility called ALPs. This facility is said to reduce the contamination to below the safety level, but this is not the case. Actually, tritium, strontium, and various other nuclear wastes are found to be remaining in the water; 84% of the processed water is found to be under the standard. In fact, other than ALPS, there are ways to detoxify the water, but the Japanese government and Tokyo Electric chose the cheapest way—draining the contaminated water into the Pacific Ocean. This will not only end up giving damages to the people in the fishing industry but also forcing us to eat radioactively contaminated fish.
