- Tokyo Electric
Tokyo Electric aims to resume operation of Kashiwazaki Kariya nuclear power plant, but the mayor of Kashiwazaki city expressed a grave concern over the ability and qualification of the company concerning operation of the plant. This is because there have been many problems caused by lack of responsibility and tension among the staff.
- Vaccine passport
WHO and EU clarified their will to further promote the vaccination; they announced partnership to create “global system” of digital vaccine passport. If this system is introduced, everyone who travels to the abroad will be compelled to be vaccinated.
- Train accident in India
On June 2, there was a train clash in eastern India killing 275 and injuring at least 900—the largest train accident in recent years.
- Russia & Ukraine
The Kakhovka dam on the Dnieper river was destroyed, causing a devastating flood in large areas. Ukraine and Russia are blaming each other to be responsible for this. However, there is information that in 2022, Ukraine conducted an experiment that aimed at destruction of this dam, and also, Ukraine opened gates at Dnieper dam that is at upstream of Kakhovka and intensified the flood.
