1) Japanese nuclear power plants
Prime Minister Kishida largely changed the government’s energy policy and to re-start old reactors whose operation has been suspended for long periods of time, by disregarding the possibility of accidents. Actually, on January 30, reactor No.4 of Kansai Electric Company’s Takahama Nuclear Power Plant automatically stopped due to mechanical troubles related to control rod. Moreover, in Kashiwazaki-Kariwa plant of Tokyo Electric Company, one-third of the operators have no experience of running a reactor. Many of the Japanese nuclear power plants are in such dangerous conditions.
1) Chinese surveillance balloon
The U.S. Defense Department used a fighter jet to destroy a Chinese surveillance balloon over the Atlantic Ocean. The Chinese Foreign Ministry expressed a strong dissatisfaction and protest against it.
2) Russia & Ukraine
The U.S. decided to newly deploy long-range GLSDB rockets in Ukraine. Former Russian President Medvedev says that if Ukraine uses them to attack Crimea, the entire Ukraine will be enveloped in flames. The more weapons the U.S. and Europe supply to Ukraine, the higher the crisis of a nuclear war will be.
