- Change in Japan’s defense policy
The Japanese government decided to change the national defense policy by 180 degrees from defense-only to having the capability of preemptive attacks on enemy bases. The ruling coalition regime has made this decision only with cabinet approval and internal collusion, without any diet discussions.
