Living as AWAI

A few days before the July Grand Event, the word “AWAI” — which appeared in the title of Rika-sensei’s Dharma Talk in the April 10 issue of the Byakko magazine, “AWAI of the World that Disappears and is Born” — lingered deeply in my heart and would not leave me for a while.

So, on Friday, July 4, I took time to close my eyes and entered meditation, embracing the vibration of “AWAI.”

I wanted to touch the true essence — the genuine vibration — that lies behind the sound of that word, something that resides in a realm beyond words.

So I quieted my awareness into the depths of my physical consciousness and continued to tune in to the vibration of “AWAI.” Then, I had an experience in which the entire viewpoint of consciousness was overturned from its very foundation.

It was a shift in perspective — from the side of being sustained to the side of sustaining life — a momentary relocation of the seat of awareness.

What I was taught by the Guardian Deities and Guardian Spirits during that meditation can be summed up in the following way:

“AWAI is the energy that connects all things. It is the vibration that links everything — that is, it is the very power that gives life to all.”

What does this mean?

To better understand it, imagine that the entirety of this world exists within the ocean.

If our minds up until now have been the thoughts of sea creatures, then “AWAI” is the seawater — it is the ocean itself. In other words, it is the power that nurtures and sustains all beings living in the ocean.

Thinking in this way, we can begin to sense that all dualities — things that seem to exist apart: object and object, person and person, past and future, inside and outside, differing organizations, minds with differing intentions, thoughts and words, love and hate, aggressor and victim, female and male, this world and the afterlife — all these apparent separations in and beyond this world are but individual moments within a greater process.

This is a process in which all things, through the vibration of life that is “AWAI,” through the “power that moves all” permeating the universe, are continually undergoing the cycle of fading and arising — a sacred metabolism — and ultimately returning to the essence of life itself.

I believe that what we perceive as problems in this world are, in fact, illusions created by thoughts that label what is sensed by the five senses as “a problem.”

Conversely, if we shift our perspective to “All is perfect and complete. Nothing is lacking.

Perfectly accomplished. Dai-Jouju,” then nothing will remain to entangle us, and we can dedicate the remainder of our lives to the fulfillment of our Divine Missions.

By embodying the way of living as “AWAI,” we can live with a completely renewed consciousness.

As we take on the viewpoint of AWAI, we come to clearly realize that humanity is both sustained and sustaining — we are supported, and at the same time, we are the ones supporting life.

Up to now, we have longed for connection and unity, holding the ideal of Oneness.

But the moment we internalize the vibration of AWAI, we are instantly able to see everything from the perspective of the One Consciousness — the viewpoint of the Creator God.

This is because we take the position of the one who connects and unifies all differences — all beings and phenomena — within the vast ocean of our own consciousness, the universe.

Those who live this way, who see all from this comprehensive view, will not only be able to bring out the best in people by placing them in the roles where they shine most, but will also come to serve in assisting the sacred work of the deities — such as the balancing of extreme celestial phenomena and tectonic shifts that cleanse the Earth (vibrational adjustment).

Furthermore, they will be able to awaken those who cling to self-display or seek validation — those who, from their ego-driven minds, sow disharmony in this world — to the realization that what they truly lack is the perspective of “forgiving and loving oneself.”

Moreover, by fully living the “now” — the present moment which is the AWAI between past and future — they can bring the past, present, and future into radiant aliveness.

And finally, with a heart unified with the Guardian Spirits and Guardian Deities who carry out the comprehensive function of AWAI — between person and person, human and God, heart and soul, body and consciousness — we ourselves can live as the very vibration of “AWAI.”

On Saturday nights, we take that time to dwell in the “Consciousness of AWAI” — a manifestation of the vibration of the Universal God — and to serve as ladders for one another, lending our backs and ascending the spiral of consciousness evolution together.

Program of the Day

1. Opening Remarks

SAITO: Hello, everyone. We will now begin the Saturday night “A Day Interconnected by Divinity” program.

Today, we will recognize ourselves as the very vibration of AWAI and hold the awareness that we are no longer on the side that seeks connection, but rather on the side that connects , unites , and brings harmony . With that consciousness, we will carry out the sacred work of harmonizing all undeveloped beings and phenomena across the Three Realms.

Those of you who have read Rika-sensei’s Dharma Talk in the April 10 issue of the Byakko magazine may already know that the word “AWAI” is an ancient Japanese term and does not carry the common meaning of the character 「間」 as “gap” or “space.”

As for the meaning of AWAI as I have perceived it, I wrote about it in the announcement email for today’s program, so I will not go into detail here.

At the beginning of today’s gathering, I would just like to say this one thing:
Let us bring forth the full power of prayer that lies within us, with confidence and conviction that we are being allowed to carry out the work of AWAI — the energy permeating the universe, the very power that gives birth to all things, sustains all life, and moves all — in other words, the love of the Creator God .

Let today be a time for us to deeply realize that we ourselves are the ones who connect and harmonize all things.

Now that the time has come, let us offer the Prayer for World Peace together, in both Japanese and English.

1. Prayer for World Peace

SAITO: Let us begin.

Sekai Jin-rui ga Heiwa de ari-masu you-ni.
Nippon ga Heiwa de ari masu you-ni.
Watakushi-tachi no Ten-mei ga mattou sare masu you-ni.
Shugo-Rei-sama, arigatou gozai-masu. Shugo-Jin-sama, arigatou gozai-masu.

May peace prevail on Earth.
May peace be in our homes and countries.
May our missions be accomplished.
We thank you, Guardian Deities and Guardian Spirits.

2. Declaration to Live with the Heart of AWAI

SAITO: Thank you very much. Now, we will move on to the Declaration to Live with the Heart of AWAI.

Once again, let me reiterate — AWAI is the divine embracing power that connects and encompasses all beings and phenomena that appear to exist separately. Ultimately, it can be seen as the very manifestation of the workings of the Universal God.

With that understanding, we will now offer the declaration — reflecting on questions such as:

"Why did we choose to be born in this era?"
"What is the great divine mission that we all share in this world?"
"And what is the most important thing we must do right now?"

Let us awaken, here and now, the consciousness that is directly connected to the Source of Life, and make our declaration to live with the heart of AWAI. Let us begin.

Now that we have remembered the heart of AWAI, we realize that we are beings who are not only being sustained but also carry the consciousness of sustaining all.

The life vibration within us that sustains all things is filled throughout the universe as the tiniest subatomic particles, giving birth to all, nurturing all, and allowing all to exist.

Therefore, the Great Life that brings all into being is none other than the universe itself, embracing all the stars and planets that exist throughout the cosmos.

As we live embracing all within ourselves, we also embrace and cherish all aspects of nature and life that exist on each of the stars.

Nothing exists outside the heart of AWAI, which lives the universe as its very self. Therefore, I can declare with certainty: there is nothing that can violate or harm me.

From now on, we will make the heart of the Universal God our own and radiate the light of the Source of Life to nature, all living beings, and all humanity.

The time is coming when all mental and physical vibrations will enter the realm of the fifth dimension. This age — just before and after that transition — is the very time for us to fulfill our greatest role.

3. A Time to Send Light with the Consciousness of AWAI

(Divine Spark IN)

TOGUCHI: Thank you very much. Now, let us take the perspective of AWAI and gaze upon the Earth — both within and beyond — and, while embracing the “various beings and phenomena” woven from spiritual and material vibrations with the infinitely vast divine arms, form the Divine Spark IN and send the light of the Universal God.

We will proceed as follows:
Each time, we will declare the phrase shown on the screen twice, then perform the Divine Spark IN once, and then visualize the light reaching the prayer’s target. Let us begin.

As beings of AWAI, we now pour the light of the Universal God into this moment.
Through this, humanity shall bring the present to life and in doing so, give life to both past and future.
