[Opening Remarks]

NAGANO: Hello everyone. We begin the program "A Day Connected by Divinity." Today, we will do a program conscious of our connection with trees.

You may have heard that trees and plants are conscious through various people''s experiences interacting with plants or through research results from universities in various countries.

Today, we will share two experiences from people who attended our Zoom Prayer Meeting.

One person was visiting Yoyogi-Hachiman-guu (a shrine in Tokyo) when she saw the towering trees there and casually said to them, "You must be very uncomfortable standing there and not being able to move, right?"

The tree closest to her replied without a moment''s hesitation, "You may think so, but we are connected to plants all over the world through our consciousness. We can talk to each other at any time. We live in such a ''web of life.'' We can even know what is happening in the world while we are here. So, we are not limited at all."

This story is a sobering reminder that we humans suffer from being unable to remember life''s interconnectedness.

Another person said that one morning, as she was leaving the house to go for her usual early morning walk, she felt a great deal of anxiety, though she didn''t know where it was coming from. She walked down the street wondering, "What is this?

Then, when she came to the usual riverbank, she saw that all the trees in the wooded area had been cut down and were being prepared for construction.

She said that the moment she saw this, she understood, "Ah, the sound of this sadness was the sound of the trees that used to live here.

We humans have decided for ourselves that we are the masters of all creation and have selfishly cut down trees, treated roadside grass as a nuisance, oppressed and eaten everything that lives, and so on.

We have also scraped away the mountains and fields, reclaimed the oceans, and used the soil of Mother Earth as a home for ourselves while polluting the air, water, and land.

As a result, the Earth''s natural environment is on the verge of collapse. Add to this the fact that human beings are fighting among themselves, and the Doomsday Clock currently stands at 1 minute and 29 seconds until final stage.

Also, in the distant past, when our home planet Venus was in a situation similar to today''s Earth, on the verge of destruction, a group of Cosmic Humanity from a suddenly evolved planet descended to the surface of Venus, and the first words they spoke to the people of Venus were as follows

"Remember the divinity that humans inherently possess. Acknowledge the sacredness of life. Let''s begin by planting trees".

In the distant past, there was a time on Venus when droughts and floods were frequent, and the temperature differences were extreme, making it a difficult place to live. The cause of this was that, like on Earth to this day, people selfishly cut down all the trees and deprived the land of its greenery.

Now, our Earth is also trying to follow the path that Venus took to recover from its devastation, albeit billions or hundreds of billions of years later than Venus.

To bring about an era in which humanity naturally recognizes the divinity that resides in all things is aware of the great work of trees and plants, and lives by cherishing the green, we are going to do the following program today.

First, we will connect with the trees of the Earth in our minds and hearts. We will pray for the reawakening of the divinity of nature, living beings, and humanity and sow the seeds of life in this world to revive the Earth in perfect harmony, beginning with gratitude to the trees and continuing with gratitude to nature and gratitude to the world, and beyond that, to everything.

It''s time, so first, we will pray for world peace in Japanese and English.

3. A story about when Venus was in the same situation as Earth is today (read aloud)

NAGANO: Next, we read from a book that explains in a very easy-to-understand way how Venus recovered from the situation it was in when it was the same as the Earth is now. The text I''m going to read is from pages 189 to 191 of Masao Murata''s book, “The Future of the Earth and Cosmic Beings”. SAITO-san, please.

The fact that the present wonderful farm is the result of the blood, sweat, and tears of the people of Venus during that time is something I find very precious.

The history of Venus, a desolate planet transformed into a green planet, shows us earthlings a great goal to work towards, and it has given me courage that I cannot express with words.

I know that what you have just told me is only a small part of the history of Venus, but for me, it is a story that is invaluable and very precious, and I will certainly take it to heart. Thank you very much."
