- Democratic Republic of Congo
Ethnic conflict is continuing in the Democratic Republic of Congo between Tutsis (M23) and Hutus (government.) On November 29 and 30, over 120 civilians were killed by the M23 rebels. The government also announced on December 5 that 300 civilians had been killed in the eastern part of the country.
There was an even additional report of disaster: there was a flood and landslide in Kinshasa, the capital of the country that killed more than 120 people.
- Peru
A civil war is taking place in Peru over presidency. Although left-wing candidate Castillo was chosen in the election, the parliament removed him for an allegation of corruption, and chose Boluarte as the President. This has evoked riots by angry supporters of Castillo.
- Russia and Ukraine
Former German Prime Minister Merkel expressed her view that Minsk Agreement was meant to give time to Ukraine for military buildup. President Putin reacted to this and said that his trust to the west was nearly zero. As the tension increases between Russia and EU/U.S., the U.S. is planning to deploy interceptor missile Patriot in Ukraine.
