[en-zoomletter:00874] About last night's glitch

Dear All Participants,

At last night's Zoom Prayer Meeting, the rental server where our homepage and mail system are located was attacked by a group of hackers from a particular country, causing the following problems.
1) The website became inaccessible.
2) The function to send out a batch of e-mails was disabled.

DDoS attack: One of the attack methods in which a group of hackers aims to shut down a network or server. Specifically, this is an attack method in which a large amount of data is sent from multiple networks to a specific server to bring the server down.

The specific time the problem occurred is as follows. (Japan Standard Time)
Around 7:14 PM to 7:17 PM
7:25 PM to 7:28 PM
From around 8:05 PM to 8:10 PM
From around 8:12 PM to 8:17 PM
From around 8:34 PM to 9:34 PM

The Access Problem was resolved at 10:38 PM last night. (Japan Standard Time)

We apologize to those who had difficulty entering the room for not being able to contact us immediately at that time.

In light of last night's incident, we will take the following measures at the end of this week to prevent similar inconveniences.
(1) From now on, we will separate the e-mail sending function from the home page and place it on a separate service.
(2) In the e-mail I send every Saturday, the URL to participate via Zoom and YouTube will be included.

Please note that although this attack targeted the server where the website is located, if there is an attack on the Zoom system and a malfunction occurs, the prayer meeting itself may not be able to be held.

Infinite Peace,
Masaharu Saito
