Reporters Without Borders have announced the ranking of freedom of press in each country of the world. Japan's ranking was the 71st , dropping by 4 from last year. When the Democratic party was in power, Japan's ranking was 11th, and they opened the Press Club also to the journalists who did not belong to main media. However, the ranking sharply dropped with the revival of the Liberal Democratic-Komei coalition regime and the closed Press Club. Among Asian countries, Taiwan was the 38rh and South Korea was the 43rd. Reporters Without Borders explained that in Japan, large enterprises and the government are giving pressures to the press, but NHK distributed this news by deleting the pressure from the government.
