President Putin ordered to suspend the attack on Azovstal―underground steel plant where the Azov battalion is holding many civilians. As Putin announced complete seizure of Mariupol, the Russian side promises safety if Azov surrenders, but the Ukrainian side denies it saying Azov is ready to retreat carrying weapons under the support of a third party.
In Mariupol, a large number of citizens are estimated to have died in the battles.
The Russian-Ukrainian war is boosting a mood of military expansion in Japan. Liberal Democratic Party is discussing a plan to double the defense expanses in the coming 5 years and to establish the ability to attack enemy bases. This will nullify the basis of Japan’s peace constitution.
